My Approach
The decision to begin therapy can be a difficult one. I get it. It can feel quite daunting. Where do you begin? How can this person possibly understand? Will it even help? Much of the psychological research points to the therapeutic relationship itself as being a key factor in positive treatment outcomes. So it is important that I be a good fit for you.
That means, from the start, we will be working collaboratively to make sure you're getting what you need and you feel supported.
After an initial period of assessment and getting to know one another, we will develop goals for our work together. From there, we will agree on a treatment plan and continuously check-in as to progress and whether you are benefiting from our work together. I will utilize therapeutic approaches from a variety of evidence based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). We will continue to revisit goals and adjust our approach to be sure your needs are being met at all points in the process.
Some Logistics
Sessions are 50 minutes and take place at my office in the Gramercy Park/Union Square Area. Prior to making an appointment, I offer a 15 minute phone consultation where we can discuss my fees and approach to see if it's a good fit. I do not accept insurance but can provide you with a detailed invoice to submit for potential reimbursement from your insurance carrier. Please feel free to contact me with additional questions or concerns.
