I do this work because I fundamentally believe no one should be alone in their pain - there is hope, there is help. The problem is, when we are overwhelmed or in a dark place, it can feel practically impossible to reach out for support. As a psychologist, I work with my clients to develop new skills to address whatever is holding them back, to identify and interrupt unhealthy patterns, to integrate difficult feelings or past experiences, and to help them manage whatever is to come.
My approach to treatment is integrative, drawing on my training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic and existential psychotherapy. In the end, I believe therapy to be a deeply collaborative process. Techniques must be evidence-based but also fluid and tailored for each person's needs.
